What we can work on
Sessions can explore the situations, emotions and patterns connected with substance and behavioural addictions, including alcohol, drugs, gambling and gaming. Together, you can discuss your goals, ways of responding to urges, and practical changes that fit your circumstances. Stress, mood and relationship difficulties can be part of that conversation too.
A plan suited to your needs
An initial appointment is a chance to discuss your concerns and whether this service is suitable. Psychological support may form part of a wider plan with your GP or an alcohol and other drug service. Our admin team can explain appointment options and referrals.
Medical support and withdrawal
This practice provides psychological appointments, rather than medical detoxification. Withdrawal from some substances can be dangerous. Speak with your GP or an alcohol and other drug service before stopping or reducing substances if dependence or withdrawal may be involved.
