Menopause support in Townsville
Our female menopause specialist consults through Create Psychology NQ. She offers space to be heard, understand your experience and navigate the wellbeing and life changes that can come with perimenopause and menopause.
Support that takes your experience seriously
You may feel unlike yourself and wonder, ‘Why is this happening to me?’ Things you once managed easily may feel harder, or you may struggle to explain changes that others cannot see. If you have been met with blank looks or felt dismissed—even when seeking professional help—it can leave you questioning your own experience.
What you are experiencing deserves to be heard and explored. You do not need to minimise it or have a clear explanation before asking for support. This is a space to talk without judgement, ask questions and begin to make sense of what is happening for you.
Understanding your own experience
Perimenopause and menopause can involve changes in mood, sleep, concentration and emotional wellbeing. These can overlap with anxiety or depression, and menopause-related changes and mental health conditions can coexist. Understanding the whole picture matters; symptoms should not automatically be attributed to either one.
Every woman’s experience is different. What helped a friend, or what you have read about someone else’s journey, may not fit your circumstances. The conversation starts with your experience: what has changed, how it affects you and what support you need.
Making room for changing needs
Sometimes the task is less about fitting menopause into life and more about adjusting life around what you need now. That might mean reconsidering expectations, boundaries, routines or the support you ask for.
Sessions can explore how this intersects with work demands, family responsibilities, relationships and social pressures. There is room to talk about frustration or loss when your energy, confidence or capacity feels different, as well as what you want to preserve or change. You do not have to treat these changes as a personal failing.
The focus extends beyond hormonal changes to their place in your everyday life—how you feel about yourself, how you relate to others and how you navigate this stage. Support can help you explore practical ways forward that reflect your own needs and priorities.
Specialist consultations
A female menopause specialist consults through Create Psychology NQ. Our admin team can explain how to access her consultations, including her current availability, appointment format and fees. They can also clarify what type of consultation best fits your enquiry.
Coordinating your care
Your GP can assess physical symptoms, consider other possible causes of changes and discuss medical treatment options. Psychological support sits alongside that care and does not replace medical assessment or treatment.
Psychological appointments can offer space to understand your experience, work through its impact and discuss ways of coping. Ask admin about her scope of practice and any referral or documents needed before an appointment.
